Once you click "Listen Now" you will have
a new window open that
looks like the image below.
At this point an embedded player will start automatically and you
will have the option of leaving the window open (it can be
minimized) and listening to the station directly through the
page itself or if you prefer you can choose to have the stream
play through any of the four music players listed below.
We have linked to each of the players free download sites for
your convenience, though many of them are probably already in
your computer and ready to run.
Windows Media Player
(Automatically a part of all Windows operating systems) Win Amp
(A free downloadable program)
iTunes (Popular free program typically not
found on office computers) RealPlayer
(A free downloadable program)
To use any of the above listed programs simply click the
appropriate icon located directly below the embedded player.
Once you have opened the stream in one of these media players you can close
the LoudCity window, it is only needed for the
initial launch.
Why doesn't the "Now Playing" page ever change?
The "Recently Played" page should auto-refresh shortly after every song
change..
If you are not seeing an updated page you should be able to manually
update it by clicking the "Recently Played" tab. If even that is
not working then more than likely your browsers internet settings are
set to keep pages in memory for an extended period of time. This
helps your pages load quicker, but you're often seeing out of date
versions of the page.
Keep in mind that if you are a station owner you have access to a much
more sophisticated auto-refreshing "Now Playing" page in the owners
section of the web site. The owner's version includes cover art
and dedication information.
To correct this issue in the public section of the web site follow these
steps...
STEP ONE:
On your internet explorer software (we recommend using the newest
version of Microsoft Internet Explorer when viewing our site) select
TOOLS and then select INTERNET OPTIONS. This should open a window
like the one you see here.
STEP TWO:
Once you've opened the internet options select the SETTINGS tab under
Browsing History (highlighted in blue in the above photo).
This should open another window like the one you see to the right of
this information.
The default setting in Explorer under Temporary Internet Files is
AUTOMATICALLY. Change that to EVERY TIME I VISIT THE WEBPAGE.
Select OK and you should be all set! Now the "Recently Played"
page will update every time you click on the tab.
Why does the web site look so poorly formatted?
If you find that our web site does not look properly formatted on your
computer it's most likely because you are not using the latest version
of Microsoft Explorer.
When we designed the Freeze-Frame Radio website it was designed
specifically for the Microsoft Explorer browser. Other browsers
such as Opera and FireFox will tend to justify all text and images to
the left of the screen. Older versions of Explorer may do this as
well.
To fully enjoy the design and functionality of our web site we highly
recommend you download the latest version of explorer. Clicking on
the logo below will take you to the free download page.
Explorer 7.0 now includes many of the features that FireFox has had for
the past year. Items like tabbed browsing and full-screen
overviews of those tabs are now standard in Explorer.
